Job Title: Localization Program Manager
Location: Remote
Duration: 6+ months
Pay rate: $50-55/hr W2 (DOE)
Description
Languages are key to our mission of bringing the world closer together. The family
of products is currently available in 100+ languages and we are adding many more. Over
70% of people use our products in a language other than English, and ~90% are outside
of North America. As a Localization Program Manager, you will partner with product and
the rest of internationalization teams to empower products to feel local at a global
scale.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in localization program or project management
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience in localization/internationalization project or
program management
- Experience with and thorough understanding of translation technologies: translation
memories, translation management systems, machine translation, etc
- Experience implementing scalable and change management frameworks
- Experience communicating across and driving results among a variety of
cross-functional stakeholders, working across time zones and international offices
- Experience analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to inform business decisions
- Experiences in staying focused, prioritizing and creating structure across large,
ambiguous programs and setting goals for long-term initiatives
Responsibilities
- Engage and build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (Product,
Design, Engineering, etc.) to launch successful localized products and contents
- Design and implement efficient and scalable end-to-end localization frameworks
tailored to various products and diverse content types.
- Guide stakeholders across to ensure localization best practices are followed and
drive efficient execution
- Proactively identify and streamline technical and process issues that affect localized
product relevancy, quality, and functionality
- Actively seek out opportunities to optimize the international user experience and
influence adoptions of optimal solutions
- Partner across internationalization to ensure the right resources are in place and all
deliveries are completed at the expected standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of translation technologies like translation memories, machine
translation, CAT tools and AI applied to localization
- Knowledge of additional languages other than English
- Familiarity with internationalization standards such as Unicode and CLDR
- Exposure to SQL, analytics tools, or a coding language
- Knowledge of AI technologies and potential application in localization workflows
- Experience working with localization vendors
Minimum Years of Experience 3+
Must-Have Skills
- Localization Expertise: Proficiency in translation memories, translation
management systems, machine translation, localization best practices, and
Other Related Knowledge/technologies Is Essential.
- Localization Program Management: A minimum of 3+ years of experience in
managing localization programs or projects, with a proven track record of
designing and implementing efficient and scalable end-to-end localization
frameworks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills
to effectively work with diverse stakeholders and navigate through ambiguous
problems, driving results-oriented outcomes.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of additional languages: Familiarity with languages other than
English is a plus, as it can help the candidate better understand the needs of
international users.
- Familiarity with internationalization standards: Knowledge of
internationalization standards such as Unicode and CLDR can be beneficial in
ensuring that localized products meet industry standards.
- Exposure to SQL, analytics tools, or coding languages: Having some knowledge
of SQL, analytics tools, or coding languages can be helpful in analyzing complex
data sets and optimizing localization workflows.
Degrees/Certifications
BA/BS or equivalent work experience in localization/internationalization project or
program management
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Analyze complex data to make informed business decisions

localized product relevancy, quality, and functionality

- Localization Launch Support: Collaborate with Monetization product teams to
successfully launch products in local markets
- Stakeholder Influence: Drive adoption of localization best practices among
product stakeholders, ensuring effective integration into product development
cycles
- Process Optimization: Design and implement scalable process improvements to
enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability of localization operations
