About the Role
NinjaOne is looking for a Team Lead to join our in-house localization team. This role combines translation, project management and team management skills. As our Localization Team Lead, your primary responsibility will be leading a team of Localization Specialists across various target languages, overseeing project management and quality assurance processes, to ensure quality standards for our delivery pipeline across marketing, product, documentation and sales content for our target audience of IT-experts in different markets.
Reporting directly to the Localization Manager, your team will be responsible for the complete asset creation process, from start to finish. You will ensure delivery deadlines are met, while making sure, your team has access to all necessary linguistic resources to uphold the high quality standards our target audience of IT-experts is accustomed to. This position demands excellent writing and review abilities, solid project management skills and a good understanding of localization best practices. In addition, you will become an allrounder to support all our localization functions and help us to guarantee our operational readiness at all times.
This role is tailor-made for a junior people manager with a strong linguistic background, who has a passion for localizing technically challenging content, loves to learn new skills and thrives by leading a team of international Localization Specialists to be successful.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Project Management: Ensure the end-to-end localization of deliverables across various target languages and within deadlines. Use our project management tools with confidence and collaborate closely with the Localization Project Manager to support all business units, upholding well developed quality-standards and localization best practices
- Team Leadership: Onboard, train, support and oversee a team of Localization Specialists. Conduct weekly personal feedback meetings with your team and support their success, ensuring they have access to all necessary resources
- MTPE Translation: Use our TMS to translate and review high-visibility content, by leveraging your excellent writing abilities, to adapt machine pre-translated content from English into your native language
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the compliance with brand-standards across various content types for our German localization processes. Take responsibility for upholding quality standards for assets translated into German by conducting regular reviews, providing feedback and overseeing approval processes
- Localization Process Enablement: Support your team in the various end-to-end localization processes, including SEO optimization, UI/UX review, LQA and adaptation workflows, asset finalization, and additional localization best practices, that make us stand out in our target market
- Support for additional Localization functions: As an integral part of the Localization Leadership team, you help us to ensure our operational readiness. You will be trained to become a Localization allrounder, who can support our Localization Operations Team of Localization Engineers, Project Managers and Localization Web Developers. This includes a deep understanding of our processes and tools, as well as project-specific responsibilities to resolve bottlenecks and guarantee a seamless production pipeline
- Linguistic Excellence: Conduct research into industry-specific terminology to ensure high-quality translations within a technology-centric SaaS business environment
- Terminology Management: Collaborate closely with other Team Leads to align on resource maintenance and utilize our Styleguides, Termbases and Translation Memories in the most effective way across languages
- Localization Best Practices: Utilize your localization knowledge to deliver truly local experiences across the various asset creation workflows and help your team become more effective over time.
- Perform other localization-related duties as needed
About You
- 1-3 years of experience as a project manager, team lead or similar work experience in an in-house localization team
- 2-5 years of work experience in a high-performing localization team
- Experience working with Translation Management Systems or CAT-tools (e.g. MemoQ, Trados Studio, etc.)
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Excellent writing and proofreading abilities in German and English and attention to detail
- Ability to oversee complex localization processes, especially across marketing, web and sales content
- Reliable self-driven localization expert, willing to improve and transfer your knowledge to help others succeed
- Experience managing linguistic resources (Styleguides, Termbases, Translation Memories)
- Prior localization experience as a translator, reviewer or terminologist
- Reliable multi-tasker with ownership-mentality
- Proactive mindset with an unshakable focus on expectations of your target audience
Bonus Skills
- Experience with Terminology-Management tools or documentation tools
- Experience with SEO best practices
- Work experience in a marketing environment
- Experience with WordPress or other Content Management Systems
- Experience with internationalization best practices, supporting professional localization processes around UI/UX and technical documentation
- Certifications in Linguistics, Project Management or a related field
