I’ve documented my whole journey with XTM Cloud from the first home page visit, through creating a project, to downloading the translated files in German.

Hey guys, how are you? Welcome. My name is Andre. This is another video in the TMS UX series. And in this one, we will have a closer look at XTM Cloud. If you are new to the series, what I’m basically trying to do is I roll the dice, which tells me which TMS to review and try out next. And what I’m trying to do is I’m just starting to document my whole journey from visiting the homepage, to signing up for a free account, creating a project, uploading the files, getting them translated, and then finally downloading the translated files back to see if there are intact and like I said, the reason why I pick SDN cloud is this one. I’m here back again to roll the dice. So let’s do it again. Why do they four or 512, I think a solid number already 123451234512. So this is told me to review XTM Cloud next.

Before we get into this, let me make a very quick disclaimer, everything I share in this video is just my own personal opinion. And it’s mostly focused on the design the user experience of my own user experience and how I feel about the software, whether I like it, where I like the design, the interaction, whether it’s consistent or not the fonts, colors, and so on. It’s really just what’s going on in my head when I’m using the software for the very first time. So by no means is this my recommendation to you whether this tool is right for you, or no, everybody has different needs, especially when it comes to design and how things feel for us how we think they’re beautiful or not. This is purely preferential so you can make your own opinion. This is just me sharing my experience. So without further ado, let’s get right into the review of SDM cloud. Go to cloud XTM. Cloud. Okay, this looks very futuristic. raise my pen. I like this. So the first thing that comes to my mind immediately is the hands. And the how this looks super futuristic. And like AI. So I guess it’s about empty. That’s my hope. Anyway, so are we. We are recording right. So let’s get to the review. First impression, like I said is good. What I definitely don’t like and I can really see it. I don’t know why I did it. And maybe you can see it. They bootrec all the logos of their clients. So big names here, but there’s absolutely no spacing between them. Like what the fuck? six foot parties logos actually even overlapping? Or am I just dump? farstone Swiss Post? No. Okay, just started but there’s absolutely no gap. That to me is not guilt budget like that.

Otherwise, what do we have here? XTM Cloud version 12.6. Empowering integration. Okay. Normally, we typically see more text here on the hero image, not just the logo and a version. Is that the best way that you want to? I mean, is that the best thing that you want to communicate to me? Like the first thing that you want to communicate to the people and just empowering integration? Otherwise, if I don’t scroll down, the only text actually that is supposed to tell me what what are the benefits of SDM cloud is empowering integration. Is that the unique value proposition? Is it like other tools cannot have integration? That’s not true. I don’t know if they’re just playing it for visuals. Or maybe I don’t know. They think that the SDM cloud is so popular that people see Oh, it’s version 12.6. I need to get it now. I don’t know anything about zip code. So to me, I would expect a little bit more copy here. Or maybe some video or something I don’t know. To explain but right now. Yeah. Okay, let’s look at the rest. cars look nice. So blue, grayish, some darker thing. Green as maybe accent color. Then we have a bunch of menus, product features, price sync.

Looks good surge website, I’m not sure about this think I think I was struggling with this even on my website. It’s the alignment. It’s weird. So this thing looks to be centered. The green button try XDM for free space and on top and the bottom seems to be the same when it comes to the logo. I’m not sure if I’m blind, but I think like the space at the bottom is bigger than on the top. So XTM International, the logo actually doesn’t seem to be vertically aligned within the section. And that brings us to these two things, which are actually one will together. Not sure if I like it, I think typically when you have these two minus menus on top of each other, they’re separated. Who is different section but like another div. So instead of having just one div, like we have here, there would be another one. At least from my experience. There’s another one on the top, which has maybe some smaller menu things. Things. Great explanation.

Anyway, so this seems to me to clump together a bunch of things together. And what I don’t like is again, the alignment like for example, this one, the search salon with the button. But it’s kind of like off when you think about it in relationship to the to these two texts. So actually, based on looking for this, it looks like this thing. Like the text here is aligned with the logo. But the logo as we already know it’s off center. So that’s why it’s off. It is off. So I spoke about this thing. doesn’t tell me pretty much anything about STM. So I guess we’re just gonna scroll down. How does the search work? Well, okay, cancel, cancel, cancel. We’re not going to be doing that. cancel, cancel, cancel, cancel. Okay. Moving down. What? Oh, wait, what?

Why did I just not load everything? Okay, now this, of course has more space. Finally. Thank God. And it’s even moving. I don’t know what happened before. So okay, so the hero image still stays the same. There’s nothing extra. This has been fixed. It looks better for sure. For shizzle. And alignment, I think still off. Yeah, that alignment is to offset. Okay, we can move down to about sreen line. Um, if I paused in this section, my personal impression is that all these texts here are kind of like, competing with each other. Size is almost the same. And they’re so clumped together. That it’s weird. Like, for example, for here for the customer logos. I would maybe expect to see more padding on top and bottom. Because right now it’s just really this small div here. Word logos are squeezed in.

I’m gonna look at it again. Yeah, yeah. Maybe it’s like there’s Yeah. Too much competition here. It’s noisy as people say. streamline your localization process. Okay. Sure. Reduce transaction costs by up to 50%. automate. Okay, great. I love this. So who was I talking about? In which review? Was I mentioning this that they had images from the UI? But the images were super small? Was it pure editor? I think it was Bo editor. Yeah. So this is absolutely great. Because I can actually see without doing some hacks and zooming in on images, how the UI looks like. And it’s relevant to what I’m clicking, and I really like the, the UI here of these things, or even extra text. So not sure if I like the fact that if you have automated here, the first heading or whatever that is, my click if it’s smaller, to fit in the edit text.

But that’s a tiny detail. But otherwise, I like this interactivity. And it works well with the screenshot to show me the UI. So that is super cool. Super awesome. Okay, next section, translation management solution. localizing and deploying material across multiple regions is complex, you need a translation solution that is simple, scalable, blah, blah, blah. Again, huge logo. Why did these guys like their logo so much? I don’t know. Any thoughts? Why XDM cloud is such a huge thing. I don’t know if somebody explained this to me. It’s correct. Like the call to action in this section, Is this correct? Yeah. This here is just as a logo. Why doesn’t show anything? I don’t know. Okay, so we have here next. industries, Life Sciences, retail. Okay, changes on harbor. Looks good. I can move on. Marketing, blah, blah, blah. And I could keep the nose should be quick. Yep. Yep. This looks good. It looks pretty cool. Pretty cool. Pretty cool. I’m not sure if I like the fact that it’s that it has the blue thing on top of it. There’s blue here. I don’t know if it looks good. I guess. XTM connectors. Now we are finally back to the empowering integration. Wait, oh my god, this is holy. Just the link. So the image of Jesus, it is an image. Can anyone select it? Okay. That’s all work. Next to connectors. Blah, blah, blah, bunch of things. Okay. I like the table. It looks nice. The logos are clearly readable. That looks good that this cover all X to connector. So here. Again, I’m not sure why we have a different language. I don’t know. She chose me. I don’t know. So what I’m thinking is that the difference between the heading and the link is not that big.

Otherwise, you have here with the with the double things, the arrows, I don’t know how it’s called that character. Discover XTM discover XTM connectors. This is kind of confusing, because the whole lane the whole text is a link. But when I hover only the STM connectors changes shakez makes. I mean, it’s a new thing that I haven’t seen before. So maybe I’m just reacting to it because I’m not used to it. But I don’t know. Like, because it’s like the style you can see here like some part of it is blue, then it’s black and blue things black. But this one is a title and just slightly larger than this one. But this one is link. It’s not very clear to this is also a link like normally when I would be scrolling probably wouldn’t even know what is it. So that’s my commentary.

First of all, it’s full width. And second of all, many of the companies have the the menu on the left side. These guys stack it on the top. And I actually do like it. It looks it looks like you have more space. Well, let’s see how it ends up once I start adding stuff into the project. But like even I do have to say that like the colors color palette, this this this dark Gray’s or what is this dark blue or something? That looks good. Alright, so my projects, all projects current archive all that that’s this looks bad when I just click the button. It looks like it has to do borders. Yeah. This looks, I mean, it? I don’t know. No, I’m actually just going to say that I don’t like it that much. It looks weird. Like when you have these toggle things through you actually keep the border on the interactive button. Like here you can see there’s this border degrades your border, which makes it stand out so it looks like there’s this inactive button. And then there is a selected thing. Don’t be normal you have just one line and the active element is color. I think that’s what I would expect. That’s why I don’t like these borders here.

My only problem is that you cannot even resize it. So you can always see four languages at the same time. But yeah, this is the same implementation as memsource. That’s where it was also super tiny. But when I go to settings, settings looks completely different. Why? I have no idea. I don’t want to projects. I never also mentioned this this menu. I mean, it’s functional, but not so teeny, tiny.
