Position Summary: This role involves translating content from Japanese to English, ensuring cultural appropriateness, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy. The ideal candidate will be a Japanese speaker with high English proficiency, with a strong understanding of linguistic nuances and cultural context in the Japanese-speaking crypto space.
Key Responsibilities:
Translation and Localization:
- Translate content from English to Japanese, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance.
- Ensure all Japanese-language content aligns with the company’s brand voice and messaging.
- Maintain consistency in terminology and style across all platforms and documents.
- Adapt content to suit the Japanese market while maintaining the original message and tone.
- Review and edit translated content for quality and accuracy.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct thorough quality checks on all Japanese-language content.
- Identify and correct linguistic errors, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the highest quality of translated content.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the localization managers, business development personnel, product and operations managers, and other stakeholders to understand content requirements.
- Provide linguistic and cultural insights to enhance content effectiveness.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a professional translator.
- Proficiency and experience with localization workflows, including translation memories, termbase management, and TMS platforms.
- Strong understanding of Japanese culture and market preferences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a similar role within the crypto or finance sector.
- 3+ years’ experience as a client-side in-house linguist.
- Prior experience translating in Phrase.
- Willingness to work in the Singapore (GMT+8) time zone.
