Business Development Manager

Job summary:

Side International Japan is seeking an experienced, driven, and results-oriented Business Development Manager to support our new business sales efforts. This is a pivotal, client-facing role focused on identifying, pursuing, and securing new partnerships with video game studios and publishers, with a focus on QA testing and Localization services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the gaming industry, a proven track record in B2B sales, and a passion for building lasting client relationships. Part of the New Business Sales Team within the Commercial department and reporting directly to the Director of Partnerships.

Duties and key responsibilities:

  • Drive new business growth by identifying and targeting prospective clients in the video games sector.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to promote our QA and Localization services.
  • Manage the full sales cycle – from prospecting and pitching to negotiation and closing deals.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in game development and publishing.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with internal delivery, marketing, and senior leadership teams to ensure

smooth onboarding and transition of new clients.

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity using CRM tools and regularly report on pipeline

and performance metrics.

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging markets, and competitor activity to inform

sales strategy.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally in the video games or technology outsourcing industries.
  • Demonstrable success in selling services (preferably QA, localization, or other game dev support functions).
  • Strong network within the gaming industry is a plus. (Other industries are welcome!)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of video game development lifecycles and localization/QA processes is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel for meetings, conferences, and events (as needed).
  • Native-level Japanese and Fluent english (Toeic: 650)
  • Some flexibility with working hours when necessary.

Working Conditions

  • Location: 7F Front Place Yotsuya, 3-2-1 Yotsuya, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 160-0004
  • Work Hours: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM (1-hour break included)
  • Work Style: Hybrid — 2 days in-office, 3 days remote per week
