Pocket FM is the world’s largest audio-series platform — 250M+ listeners, 300K+ creators, and 140 billion minutes streamed every year. We recently crossed $400M ARR (adding the latest $200M in just 12 months), and we’re now bringing our content to Italian audiences.
We’re looking for an AI Quality Specialist based in Italy to help ensure the highest quality standards across our Italian audio content.
This role combines proofreading, localization review, and audio quality control for episodes featuring AI-generated voices, music, and sound design.
Compensation: €20 per final hour reviewed
Key Responsibilities
Script Review & Proofreading
- Review and proofread assigned Italian-language scripts for accuracy, logical flow, and adherence to Pocket FM’s style guidelines.
- Verify narrative consistency, ensuring plot elements, character details, and localization are maintained across episodes.
- Refine translations to sound authentically Italian, avoiding overly literal renderings.
- Correct grammatical errors, misused tenses, incorrect punctuation, and unnatural sentence structures.
- Identify and correct AI-generated inconsistencies or hallucinations in scripts.
Audio Quality Control & Proof-Listening
- Review episodes that include AI-generated voices, music, and sound effects to ensure all elements align seamlessly with the script and storytelling intent.
- Detect and flag issues including:
- Mismatched speech and script.
- Repeated or dropped lines.
- Cadence, pacing, or pronunciation problems in AI-generated voices.
- Awkward transitions or misaligned sound effects/music cues.
- Inconsistent or unnatural character voicing across episodes.
- Technical issues such as plosives, distortion, echo, mouth clicks, or imbalanced audio levels.
- Confirm that sound design elements (music, ambience, and effects) enhance rather than distract from the narrative.
Confidentiality & Security
- Comply with Pocket FM’s confidentiality policy by securely handling materials.
- Delete all project files from your system within 30 days of final delivery.
Productivity Expectations
- High Productivity: 15–20 hours of audio reviewed per week.
- Average Productivity: 10–15 hours reviewed per week.
- Low Productivity: Less than 10 hours reviewed per week.
Qualifications & Skills
- Native or near-native proficiency in Italian (written and spoken).
- Strong grasp of Italian grammar, punctuation, and storytelling conventions.
- Experience in proofreading, localization, or script editing (preferably in media, publishing, entertainment, or content production).
- Familiarity with AI-generated voice content and its common limitations (intonation, pacing, pronunciation).
- Ability to critically evaluate the integration of sound effects and music with dialogue.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to detect both linguistic and audio quality issues.
- Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines.
