Bid and tender writer

Full time 9am to 5:30 pm Hybrid

£30,000 to £35,000 a year plus £500 commission each winning tender

We are seeking a Bid Writer for a Translation and interpretation services. The successful bid writer will have knowledge of health and social care provision and or local authority/NHS commissioning/procurement regulations. Excellent organisational skills and a project management approach is essential, as is being able to prioritise and meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will ultimately take responsibility for coordinating subject matter expert responses specific responses for pre-qualification, framework and tender submissions.

The role by its very nature is subject to tight immovable deadlines requiring a high degree of coordination, planning, multi-tasking and time management. The ability to produce accurate, specific, highly professional responses either stand alone or as part of a team is vital.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviewing and understanding client prequalification and tender documentation;

Interpreting quality questions to identify ‘winning themes’ and constructing response templates for support subject matter experts;

Interviewing team members to help formulate responses;

Carry out research (web based or otherwise) on clients, projects and / or projects to aid and tailor the written responses;

Editing the technical written work of others to improve its structure, readability, brevity, grammar, spelling and punctuation;

Drafting and writing PQQ and / or bid submission responses using persuasive and positive language;

Checking draft submissions adequately answer the questions and sourcing information to address omissions;

Being able to communicate effectively with other staff involved with the bid;

Able to work to tight deadlines whilst producing an excellent standard of work;

Willing to interact with the team and offer suggestions, innovation and ways to continuously improve;

Producing presentations, organisation charts and CV’s and supporting documents as required;

Designing and executing bid folders and dividers as required;

Using online tendering portals;

Assist the Bid Manager in the maintenance and development of the region’s Project Details; Bid Library, ensuring details are recorded in a timely and accurate manner and updated as appropriate. This includes collecting raw data and may require travel to other offices

Assist the Bid Manager in the completion of standard information sections of proposals and bids and assist in ensuring that this information is updated as appropriate;

Assist the Line Manager in responding to requests for information from in an accurate and timely manner;

To be aware of business continuity processes via Line Manager;

Any other activity required to support the a team.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Bid writing experience / training;

English / English literature;

Journalism/Marketing;

Strong evidenced backed experience of writing high quality pre-qualification, tender and framework submissions;

Experience of working within Translation company in a similar role; (desirable)

Framework submission experience (desirable);

Strong evidenced backed experience of writing high quality pre qualifications, tender and framework submissions;

Able to work to deadlines;

Able to work as part of a team or individually;

Client focused culture;

Excellent IT skills (essential) and use of bid writing and graphic software such as in design, (desirable);

Full Driving Licence (desirable)
