Chinese Speaking Marketing Executive (freelance)

We are seeking a data-driven China Digital Marketing Specialist with hands-on experience in content localization, native platform marketing, paid media management, and campaign performance analysis across Baidu Ads, WeChat Ads, and Douyin/TikTok to support our growth in the China market.

The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, creating, translating, localizing, and optimizing marketing initiatives for China. Responsibilities include website content development, WeChat Official Account management, and paid media execution across Baidu Ads, Google Ads, and Facebook/Instagram, with a strong focus on performance, audience relevance, and measurable business results.

Beyond content and campaigns, this person will help ensure clear and accurate communication between clients and Chinese stakeholders. This includes translation of written communications as well as live interpretation during quarterly video meetings.

We are looking for someone who not only understands language and localization, but also brings a solid grasp of marketing KPIs, campaign data, audience behavior, and the nuances of the Chinese and Greater China digital landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, translate, localize, and adapt marketing content for the China market, including:

– ad copy

– website content

– blog articles

– social media posts

– client-facing communications

– Manage and optimize paid media campaigns across Baidu Ads, WeChat Ads, Google Ads, and Facebook/Instagram, including keyword targeting, audience targeting, ad copy testing, performance tracking, and budget efficiency.

– Publish and manage content on WeChat Official Accounts, Weibo, Xiaohongshu (RED), and Douyin, and support activity on other relevant Chinese digital platforms where appropriate.

– Monitor, analyze, and report on key marketing performance metrics such as traffic, CTR, conversion rates, lead quality, ROAS, CPA, and engagement.

– Provide insights and recommendations based on campaign data and market performance to improve results over time.

– Support the adaptation of global or English-language marketing materials to ensure they are locally relevant, culturally appropriate, and commercially effective for Chinese audiences.

– Act as a communication bridge between international clients and Chinese stakeholders through written translation and live interpreting during quarterly video meetings.

– Contribute market insight into Chinese B2B and B2C buyer behavior, trends, channels, and messaging preferences.

Ideal Candidate Profile

-Proficient in Mandarin Chinese, with strong written and spoken English.

– Proven experience in digital marketing for the China market.

– Hands-on experience managing Baidu Ads, WeChat Ads, Google Ads, and Facebook/Instagram campaigns, with a strong understanding of paid media performance.

– Experience managing content for WeChat Official Accounts, Weibo, Xiaohongshu (RED), and Douyin.

– Strong understanding of marketing KPIs, campaign reporting, and performance analysis.

– Comfortable working with campaign data to identify trends, generate insights, and make optimization recommendations.

– Experience creating and localizing content for both B2B and B2C audiences.

– Strong understanding of Chinese consumer and business culture, market expectations, and communication styles.

– Excellent copywriting, translation, and localization skills.

– Confident communicator, able to support cross-cultural client and stakeholder interactions professionally.
