At The Action Sports Translator, we’re looking for experienced freelance English to Arabic (MSA) translators, transcreators, editors and proofreaders who are passionate about climbing and hiking – whether that’s bouldering, sport climbing, trad, alpine routes or multi-day treks through the mountains.
[If you’re experienced in multiple climbing disciplines, fantastic – but we’re also happy to hear from those who specialize in one or two and understand the culture and technicalities behind them.]
🚨 Please note: We are specifically looking for translators who actively participate in climbing and have a strong understanding of its gear, terminology, and subculture. General recreational interest is not enough for this role.
✅ Minimum requirements
To be considered, you should meet all of the following:
→ You are a qualified professional translator, with a formal translation degree or recognized training
→ You have proven experience working on marketing and/or technical content (bonus if you have copywriting or transcreation experience)
→ You are an active climber, with first-hand experience and knowledge of climbing gear, terminology and culture
→ You are comfortable working with a range of content types – from gear descriptions and landing pages to editorial and brand copy
→ You are professional, detail-oriented, and take full ownership of your work
