About the Role
Oridian Language Services is looking for a skilled Hmong–English Translator to join our team on a full-time basis. This role focuses on translating written materials from Hmong into English with accuracy, cultural awareness, and consistency. You’ll work on a steady stream of projects across various subject areas, helping bridge communication for Hmong-speaking communities and the organizations that serve them.
What You’ll Do
Translate documents, forms, and written content from Hmong into English
Maintain accuracy in tone, meaning, and cultural context throughout each translation
Proofread and edit translated materials to ensure clarity and correctness
Collaborate with project coordinators and other linguists to meet deadlines
Flag ambiguous source content and work with clients or internal teams to resolve it
Apply consistent terminology across related projects, using glossaries or style guides when provided
Stay current with Hmong dialectal variations and regional usage where relevant to the work.
What We’re Looking For
Native or near-native fluency in Hmong (White Hmong, Green Hmong, or both)
Strong command of written English, including grammar, tone, and register
Demonstrated experience translating Hmong to English professionally
Familiarity with translation tools or CAT software is a plus, but not required
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once
Reliable internet access and a quiet, professional remote work setup
Comfortable working independently while meeting team deadlines.
