In-House Translator

The In-House Translator is vital to the growth, refinement, and execution of CLOVEHITCH’s project-based translation services. The ideal candidate will possess strong proficiency in both the source and target languages and a deep understanding of medical terminology and industry-specific conventions. This position is contingent upon CLOVEHITCH obtaining an upcoming long-term project. It is a remote role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate medical documents between one or more European Languages and English (US), ensuring accuracy in meaning, tone, and context
  • Proofread and edit translations for grammatical accuracy, consistency, and adherence to medical terminology standards
  • Conduct research and use translation tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in line with company guidelines and healthcare regulations
  • Stay up to date on medical terminology, industry developments, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of full-time experience (or the equivalent) as a translator, with proven success in translation, editing, proofreading, and quality assurance within localization projects
  • Fluency in both the source and target languages, with expertise in medical terminology
  • Experience translating medical documents or working in a healthcare setting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive medical information
  • Familiarity with medical regulatory guidelines and healthcare documentation standards
  • Proficiency in CAT tools and in-house or third-party translation management systems (TMS)
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • A certification or degree in translation, linguistics, medicine, or a related field is preferred
