Responsibilities
Our Language Management Center offers an array of translation and localization services to all ByteDance functional teams focused on monetization solutions. Our team’s working scope includes written content that will appear on the TikTok for Business official website, external communication materials, sponsorship plans, marketing solutions, training materials, and articles posted on our knowledge center.
We are currently looking for an Indonesian Language Manager who is passionate about writing and has a proven record in content editing and quality control.
Responsibilities:
1. Create, transcreate, translate, and edit highly visible marketing, product, advertising, and legal content.
2. Proofread translations delivered by LSPs to ensure quality and adaptation to local markets.
3. Organize training and feedback sessions for translators from LSPs to give them clear and concise language-specific guidelines.
4. Answer and maintain queries from LSPs.
5. Define and maintain linguistic standards such as the Indonesian localization style guide, terminology database, and specific localization instructions.
6. Lead language quality improvement (QI) initiatives with other cross-functional teams.
7. Liaise with marketing, product, content control, and sales teams to understand their specific requirements and quality expectations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Fluent in Indonesian and English. Our Language Management Center offers an array of translation and localization services to all ByteDance functional teams focused on monetization solutions. Our team’s working scope includes written content that will appear on the TikTok for Business official website, external communication materials, sponsorship plans, marketing solutions, training materials, and articles posted on our knowledge center. We usually translate/edit 30 million words per year; Indonesian is one of our major languages. We are currently looking for an Indonesian Language Manager who will perform quality control on 20 million words per year from English to Indonesian delivered by multiple agencies. And the LM should be proficient in Indonesian and English and have a proven record in content editing and quality assurance.
2. BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
3. 5+ years of experience in localization, journalism, copy editing, content creation, or online marketing.
4. Strong syntactic and semantic skills to confidently make critical decisions related to translation.
5. Detail-oriented with the ability to balance and manage multiple tasks.
6. Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
7. Familiarity with computer-aided translation tools such as Trados Studio, XTM Cloud, SmartCat.
8. Knowledge of localization processes is a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams is preferred.
2. Solid experience in translation within the fields of marketing, legal, and advertising is preferred.
