Company Description Aqlama.ai is a new startup built on the experience and success of Aqlama Language Services, founded in 2019 by Dr. Fayeq Oweis, a former Language Manager at Google. The company focuses on speech and language services that support Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications.
Role Description This is a flexible and remote role for a Language Expert. The Language Expert will work on translating, validating, or reviewing translations between language pairs, ensuring linguistic accuracy and consistency.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in linguistics or language studies, including phonetics, morphology, syntax, or sociolinguistics.
- Experience with speech or text annotation, transcription, and quality review for AI, ML, or NLP projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a systematic approach to quality assurance.
- Comfort working remotely, managing time effectively, and collaborating with distributed, cross-functional teams.
- Interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and conversational technologies; prior industry experience is an advantage.
