Seeking a highly motivated Linguist III to support advanced multilingual AI and language research initiatives. This role involves conducting linguistic analysis, evaluating AI-generated language outputs, supporting annotation and translation efforts, and collaborating with cross-functional research and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong theoretical linguistics knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced research environment.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze how AI understands and generates language
- Find language mistakes in AI outputs
- Help create guidelines for translation and annotation work
- Research how people communicate in different languages and cultures
- Work with AI/ML engineers and researchers
- Support Responsible AI work like detecting bias, toxic language, and cultural issues
Main Languages Needed
Candidates must be fluent or near-native in one language other than English, preferably:
- Vietnamese
- Dutch
- Portuguese
- Thai
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Linguistics is required
- Python coding knowledge is required
- Basic NLP (Natural Language Processing) knowledge is needed
- Strong understanding of language structure, dialects, conversations, and communication patterns
