Role Description The IT COMTOR Japanese (Middle) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Tân Bình. The role involves interpreting and translating between Japanese and Vietnamese (and/or English) for meetings, documentation, emails, and technical specifications related to software development projects. The IT COMTOR supports communication between Japanese clients and internal teams, ensures accurate understanding of requirements, and assists in clarifying project scope, timelines, and deliverables. Daily tasks include preparing bilingual documents, participating in online and in-person meetings, summarizing discussions, and following up with stakeholders to keep information aligned. The role may also involve supporting project coordinators, contributing to quality assurance of translated materials, and helping bridge cultural and communication gaps within the team.
Qualifications
- Strong Japanese language proficiency (preferably JLPT N2 or higher) and solid Vietnamese and/or English communication skills, including verbal and written.
- Experience or familiarity with IT/software development concepts, such as basic understanding of SDLC, common IT terminology, and project workflows.
- Proven ability in interpretation and translation, especially for technical documents, meeting minutes, and requirements specifications.
- Competence in using office productivity tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software) and online communication platforms.
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams and to convey information clearly and accurately.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in languages, IT, or a related field is preferred; prior experience as a Japanese IT COMTOR or bridge engineer is an advantage.
