About The Position

We are seeking a Game Producer fluent in Japanese and English to oversee the full lifecycle of game development projects. This role is responsible for coordinating internal teams and external partners, managing production schedules, and ensuring games meet the highest standards in quality, localization, and cultural alignment. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, organization, and cross-cultural communication skills, particularly within the Japanese market.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams, including artists, designers, programmers, and QA testers, to ensure timely and successful game development.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables based on the game’s requirements and business needs.
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as publishers, while maintaining the integrity of the game’s vision and design.
  • Manage development budgets and ensure project finances are regularly tracked and reported to the executive team.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, identify challenges, and implement mitigation plans to keep development on track.
  • Foster positive relationships with stakeholders, including publishing partners and studio leadership, by ensuring transparency and visibility into development progress.
  • Ensure compliance with budgets, timelines, and quality standards, including platform requirements and localization needs.
  • Provide feedback to teams to maintain and elevate game quality and alignment with best practices.
  • Share regular updates on project status, risks, and health with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends and evolving technologies to ensure the game remains competitive.
  • Stay current with game development tools, pipelines, and software to improve workflows.
  • Communicate professionally in Japanese, both verbally and in writing, and ensure clear translation of all client-facing content, including text, graphics, and voice-over material.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in both Japanese and English.
  • Proven track record of managing game development projects from concept to launch.
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Expertise in budget tracking, reporting, and risk management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Deep knowledge of game development processes, pipelines, and QA testing.
  • Understanding of video game localization and Japanese cultural nuances.
  • Familiarity with trends and consumer behaviors in the Japanese gaming market.
