Language is considered the key to understanding and connection. With over 70% of users engaging with the products in languages other than English and a vast international customer base, effective localization is central to growth. The company is seeking a skilled Localization Program Manager to oversee and coordinate localization efforts, working closely with product and internationalization teams. This role will ensure the products feel natural and tailored to local markets, fulfilling the mission of bringing the world closer together.
Responsibilities
- Engage and build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Marketing, etc.) to launch successful localized products.
- Design and implement efficient and scalable end-to-end localization frameworks tailored to various products and diverse content types.
- Guide stakeholders to ensure localization best practices are followed and drive efficient execution.
- Proactively identify and streamline technical and process issues that affect localized product relevancy, quality, and functionality.
- Actively seek out opportunities to optimize the international user experience and influence the adoption of optimal solutions.
- Partner across internationalization to ensure the right resources are in place and all deliveries are completed at the expected standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- More than 3 years of experience in localization program or project management.
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience in localization/internationalization project or program management.
- Experience communicating across and driving results among a variety of cross-functional stakeholders, working across time zones and international offices.
- Experience in identifying and driving forward work in an ambiguous environment.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to inform business decisions.
- Skilled in building and optimizing complex workflows.
- Track record of staying focused, prioritizing, and creating structure across large, ambiguous programs and setting goals for long-term initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of additional languages other than English.
- Exposure to SQL, analytics tools, or a coding language.
- Thorough understanding of translation technologies like translation memories, machine translation, and CAT tools.
- Familiarity with internationalization standards such as Unicode and CLDR.
- Experience working with localization vendors.
- Knowledge of AI technologies and potential applications in localization workflows.
