We are seeking a qualified and experienced Translation and Localization Expert fluent in Uzbek, Dari, and English to support the development of multilingual digital learning content. The expert will ensure that educational materials are accurately translated and culturally adapted for Afghan learners on a Digital Learning Platform (DLP).
Responsibilities:
- Translate educational content (video scripts, subtitles, assessments, assignments) from English into Uzbek and Dari, and vice versa.
- Localize materials to reflect the cultural, social, and linguistic context of Afghan learners, especially youth and women.
- Collaborate with instructional designers and content creators to maintain consistency in tone and terminology.
- Review and edit translated materials for accuracy and clarity.
- Provide guidance on culturally relevant examples and references.
- Work with the DLP team to test translated content on the platform and ensure linguistic integrity.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in professional translation and localization, especially in educational or vocational contexts.
- Native or fluent proficiency in Uzbek and Dari, with excellent command of English.
- Demonstrated understanding of Afghan culture and social norms.
- Experience working on international development or humanitarian projects is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms or LMS is a plus.
