What is Computer Aided Translation or a CAT tool? Let’s take Unity as an example. Unity is a game engine that allows people from around the world to try to create the game without having full knowledge of coding or what I don’t know. So it makes it easier for them to use existing assets or create their own assets.
And using a simple logic, they can create some simple games. And in a way that is what a CAT tool does for translators. It makes translation way easier because it’s a specific tool or software designed just to help translators translate more efficiently and use things like translation memory or glossaries when they’re doing the translation.
So they don’t have to translate, I don’t know, using a pen and paper or using Word. That’s it.
