What is content management system or CMS? Let’s take Minecraft as an example. As you’re farming all the different items that you can get in Minecraft, you can just keep them laying around your house. That’s not very pretty, it’s not very efficient, and you don’t know where each thing is.
Then you might start organizing your items into different chests, and you might name the chests like, I don’t know, this one has raw materials, this one has weapons, this one has food or something like that. And eventually, if you get to the point, you might start creating an actual automated storage system that would do these things for you and would sort and categorize and move the items for you into the respective chest that you want. And in a way, this is what the content management system does.
Instead of doing it for the items in Minecraft, it does it for the content that people want to see or read or view. One good example is WordPress. So whenever you are creating a website, you have a bunch of blog posts there, you want to actually keep all your blog posts in one central place, which is WordPress.
And within WordPress, you can organize your posts based on different categories or based on different tags, instead of having them just laying around in I don’t know, different word files. Now we have everything in just one system, which is called CMS.
