What is purchase order or PO? Let’s take Assassin’s Creed Origins as an example in this game, just like in other open world action RPG is you get to complete a bunch of quests and the NPCs, who will give you this quest, they will promise you a reward once you complete the quest, usually in form of gold or experience points, and in a way that is what a purchase order is. It’s an official statement from the person who’s buying a certain service. So in localization, when the LSP is asking the translator, the freelancer to do a translation, they should send them a PO, which states that once a translator completes the translation they will be paid a certain amount of money. That’s it!
