What is globalization or G11n? Let’s take Steam as an example. If I’m a small developer before that, I would create my game, hopefully in my own little country, and then I would have to manually go physically sell copies of my game somewhere that’s probably close by. With Steam, I can be a developer from small country like Czech Republic or Slovakia, and I just upload my game to Steam, and from Steam, people all around the world can access and buy the game even in their own currency, and I don’t have to do anything.
That’s what globalization means. It’s kind of like losing the borders and people from different countries, different cultures all around the world, they can do business, they can interact with each other, and we’re not just restricted by the borders of our country and physically, but we get to do a lot of stuff because the countries have opened their borders and they can trade with each other, people can move around, and we have this beautiful thing called internet, which basically doesn’t mean there are any borders. So people are not very local these days, but they are kind of like part of the whole world.
